Kingdom University has achieved a new national achievement when a team of female students of the College of Information Technology won the first place at the level of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Huawei ICT Competition โ Innovation Track 2025-2026, for their distinguished innovative project “ResQ-AI: Intelligent Emergency Triage & Response System”, which is concerned with developing smart solutions for emergency medical response using artificial intelligence technologies.
The winning team included students Sara Mohamed Sharif, Raya Sharfaraz, and Fatima Nazira, under the supervision of academic advisor Marwa Assem Eifan, where they were able to present an integrated technical project that focuses on improving the efficiency of dealing with medical emergencies by linking emergency rooms to hospitals, ambulances, and smart systems, which contributes to accelerating the medical response and saving lives.
This victory reflects the advanced level reached by the students of Kingdom University in the fields of innovation and technology, and their ability to employ artificial intelligence to address real challenges affecting society and the health sector, within a strong national competition in which teams from various educational institutions participated.
On this occasion, the President of Kingdom University, Prof. Hassan Rafdan Al-Hajhoj, expressed his pride and pride in this achievement, stressing that the university places the support and empowerment of male and female students at the heart of its strategy, and said:
“We are proud of this national achievement achieved by our distinguished students, which reflects the educational environment that King University enjoys that stimulates innovation and creativity. Their winning first place in a prestigious global competition such as the Huawei Innovation Challenge is a clear proof of our students’ competence and ability to compete and excel in the fields of artificial intelligence and modern technologies, and to raise the name of the university and the Kingdom of Bahrain in scientific and technical forums.
He added that the university continues to support qualitative student initiatives and encourage applied research and innovation, which contributes to preparing national cadres capable of keeping pace with digital transformations and serving the community.
The winning team is scheduled to move on to represent the Kingdom of Bahrain in the regional stage of the competition, in a new step that enhances the presence of Kingdom University in technical competitions at the regional and international levels.
