How to Apply
- Original of Bahrain High School Certificate and Transcript (for Government Schools in Bahrain).
- Original of High School Certificates and transcript from private schools approved by the Ministry of Education in Bahrain (for private schools in Bahrain).
- Equivalence letter for High School Certificate from the Ministry of Education (for private school in Bahrain).
- Conduct Certificate.
- Copy of Valid Passport
- Copy of Valid Bahrain Smart Card (CPR)
- Two recent passport size photographs.
Additional documents for students who obtained a high school from outside of Bahrain:
- Original of Bahrain High School Certificate and Transcript stamped by:
- Ministry of foreign affairs of the country which certificate.
- Ministry of foreign affairs in Bahrain.
- Embassy of the country which granting the certificate.
- Equivalence letter for High School Certificate from the Ministry of Education (for private school in Bahrain and non-GCC students).
- Equivalence letters for High School Certificates are not required from GCC students and graduated from GCC Government Schools.
Placement Test Exam
- Applicants earned 60% and above in high school certificates
- Applicants earned less than 60% in high school certificates
Applicants earned 60% and above in high school certificates:
- Applicants with IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 550 are exempted from the English language placement test exam. Internally and externally transferred students who have already completed (a) related course(s) on their previous program (or at another university) do not need to take the placement test exams.
- Applicants who passed the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SATs) in mathematics with a score of 480 or more will be exempted from the mathematics placement test.
- Applicants who passed the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SATs) in English with a score of 480 or more will be exempted from the English placement test.
Applicants for the College of Business Administration should take the Placement Test Exam in:
- Basic Mathematics
- English language
Applicants for the College of Architectural Engineering and Design should take the Placement Test Exam in:
- Basic Mathematics
- English language
- Architectural and Design Knowledge and Skills
Applicants for the College of Law are registered directly into the program.
Applicants earned less than 60% in high school certificates:
Foundation Courses for applicants of the College of Business Administration and Information Technology comprises of:
- Basic mathematics (3 Credit Hours)
- English language foundation (6 Credit Hours)
Foundation Courses for applicants of the College of Architectural Engineering and Design comprises of:
- Basic mathematics (3 Credit Hours)
- English language foundation (6 Credit Hours)
- Basics of Architectural Engineering and Design (3 Credit Hours)
Foundation Course for applicants of the College of Law:
Applicants for the College of Law with Less than 60% in their High School Certificate must undertake placement Test in Arabic Language. They must achieve 60% to enroll directly in the program and to be exempted from foundation course. If they fail to achieve 60%, they will register for the Arabic Language Foundation Course in the first semester.
Placement Test Results
- Applicants who pass the Placement Test with the required mark are exempted from foundation courses.
- Applicants who fail the Placement Tests can enroll on (a) relevant Foundation Course(s) in order to qualify for enrollment on their chosen program’s specialized courses:
Transferred Students
Additional documents for Transfer applicants must also include:
Transfer from Government Universities in Kingdom of Bahrain
- Official transcript from the previous university.
- Withdrawal/Termination letter or graduation certificate from the previous university.
- Course descriptions for credit transfer approval.
Transfer from Private Universities in Kingdom of Bahrain
- Official transcript from the previous university, stamped by the HEC for Private University.
- Withdrawal/ Termination letter or graduation certificate from the previous university, stamped by the HEC for Private University
- Course descriptions for credit transfer approval.
Foundation Course for applicants of the College of Law:
- Official transcript from the previous university, stamped by Ministry of foreign affairs of the country which certificate and Ministry of foreign affairs in Bahrain and Embassy of the country which granting the certificate in Kingdom of Bahrain.
- Withdrawal/ Termination letter or graduation certificate from the previous university, stamped by Ministry of foreign affairs of the country which certificate and Ministry of foreign affairs in Bahrain and Embassy of the country which granting the certificate in Kingdom of Bahrain.
- Course descriptions for credit transfer approval.
Equivalent Courses
A course can be given the status of equivalent if:
- The student has completed the credit hours for the course in the previous university and has achieved a Grade C or above.
- The course which the student has previously studied matches at least 70% of the equivalent course description.
- A maximum of 66% of the program to which the student is transferring can be recognized through the course(s) that have been given approved equivalency status.
