To ensure a smooth and enjoyable visit to our esteemed institution, we kindly request that you familiarize yourself with the guidelines and instructions for visitors prior to your arrival

What to Do Before You Arrive 

Let your Host Know

Before you head to campus, inform the person you're meeting about your arrival time.

Bring your ID

Be prepared to show a valid photo ID when entering buildings or signing in.

Deliveries

If you're delivering items or equipment, let the recipient and security know in advance.

Arrival Procedures

Sign in and out

For security purposes, we kindly ask all visitors to sign in at the reception desk when they arrive and sign out when departing.

Security Stop

When you arrive at the building, head straight to the designated security desk or reception area.

Front Desk Registration

Upon arrival, please check in at the main reception desk for directions and additional assistance.

Badge Up

You may be issued a temporary visitor badge, make sure to wear it prominently throughout your visit for easy identification.

State Your Business

Clearly inform security or reception staff of the reason for your visit and who you're meeting, they might contact your host to verify your appointment.

Campus Code of Conduct

Vandalism

Refrain from any acts that could damage property, such as graffiti, defacing furniture, breaking windows, or littering.

Conduct

During your visit, please be mindful of others, respect campus property, and follow the guidelines outlined in the KU Visitor Guidelines.

Restricted Areas

Be aware that access to certain areas may be limited, such as labs during experiments, classrooms during lectures, or restricted administrative offices.

Building Hours

Building access might be limited outside of regular business hours. If your visit extends beyond closing time, obtain special permission beforehand.

Emergency and Safety Procedures

Accidents Reporting

To report incidents, please call the university's emergency number: 38339191, or you can also report them to the front desk or security personnel.

No smoking

No cigarettes and vaping are allowed inside the buildings or at the doors’ entrances.

Safety Tools

Safety tools and first aid kits are readily available for emergencies.

Emergency Evacuation

If an emergency occurs, follow the signs and head straight to the designated assembly points.

Fire Evacuation

In a fire evacuation, leave all personal belongings behind and exit the building immediately using the nearest fire exit. Our trained staff will work to recover belongings once the building is safe and reopens.

Fire Alarm

A continuous alarm sound signifies a fire emergency. Evacuate the building immediately using the nearest fire exit.

Children

Children must be always accompanied by a responsible adult within the campus grounds.

Pets

Pets and other animals are not allowed on KU premises.

Prohibited Items

For safety reasons, items like Sharp Objects, weapons or hazardous materials are strictly prohibited on campus grounds and buildings.

Dress Code

Dress Modestly

To foster a respectful and professional learning environment, we kindly request that all individuals adhere to the following dress code guidelines:

  • Dress modestly and avoid overly revealing clothing. This includes sheer, tight-fitting garments.
  • Avoid wearing excessive makeup and accessories, and clothing with offensive logos or images.
  • Refrain from wearing skirts, dresses, or shorts that fall above the knee.
  • Avoid clothing with revealing necklines or excessive slits.
  • Avoid flashy or overly elaborate hairstyles.
  • Please refrain from wearing shorts, sleeveless shirts, swimwear, or sleepwear on campus.
