Kingdom University launched the first edition of the “Kingdom University President’s Cup for Futsal” tournament, which was held at the university’s sports hall. 8 teams representing 4 colleges of the university participated in the tournament, namely the faculties of Business Administration, Engineering and Design, Information Technology, and Law, where each college was represented by two teams.
The tournament was characterized by a spirited competitive atmosphere between the teams, with the players performing at great levels of performance and sportsmanship. At the end of the matches, the College of Business Administration team was able to win the championship title after performing well in the final matches.
The activities of the first day and the final match were attended by the President of the University, Prof. Hassan bin Rafdan Al-Hajhoj, and the Vice President, Prof. Dr. Nader Al-Bastaki, where they crowned the winning team of the championship, congratulating them on their distinguished sports achievement.
In a statement on this occasion, the President of Kingdom University, Prof. Hassan Al-Hajhoj, said: “We are pleased to launch this tournament, which reflects the university’s keenness to support sports activities and encourage students to practice sports. This tournament is not just a sports competition, it is an opportunity to foster team spirit and cooperation between students from different academic disciplines. We believe that sport plays an important role in building a student’s personality and developing his leadership and social skills.”
He added: “I would like to congratulate the College of Business Administration team on their well-deserved victory in the tournament and thank all the participating teams for the high sportsmanship they showed during the competitions. I would also like to thank all the organizers of this tournament for their efforts to make it a success.”
This tournament comes as part of Kingdom University’s efforts to promote sports activities among students and encourage them to practice sports, in addition to enhancing team spirit and cooperation between students from various academic disciplines.
