In celebration of Labour Day, Kingdom University organized the “KU Hero” initiative to recognize the dedication and exceptional contributions of its employees and to further promote a culture of excellence and appreciation across the academic, research, and administrative sectors.
The initiative was based on a peer-voting system, through which university employees nominated and selected the top colleagues in three main categories. Staff votes served as the sole criterion for determining the winners, reflecting the high regard and mutual respect among colleagues for those who have made a meaningful impact within the university community.
As a result of the voting, Dr. Sharif Al-Wajeeh was named Best Academic in recognition of his outstanding teaching performance and contributions to enhancing the educational process. Dr. Adeeb Qaed received the Best Researcher award in acknowledgment of his distinguished scientific output and research achievements. Ms. Maryam Mohammed was honored as Best Administrator in appreciation of her professionalism, efficiency, and dedication to her administrative responsibilities.
On this occasion, Prof. Hassan bin Rafdan Al-Hajhoj, President of Kingdom University, stated that the “KU Hero” initiative reflects the university’s sincere appreciation for its employees, who represent the cornerstone of its progress and success. He noted that excellence is measured not only by achievements, but also by the positive impact individuals have on their workplace and colleagues.
He added that selecting the winners through employee voting gives the initiative special significance, as it demonstrates the respect and trust shared among members of the KU Family and reinforces the university’s commitment to fostering a workplace culture rooted in recognition and appreciation.
Prof. Al-Hajhoj emphasized that Kingdom University will continue to launch initiatives that strengthen motivation and belonging, while promoting collaboration and institutional excellence in ways that further enhance the quality of academic, administrative, and research performance.
