The Interior Design Department at the College of Engineering and Design at Kingdom University organized a public scientific lecture titled “Paint Solutions and Applications,” delivered by Engineer Waleed Khattab, Business Development Manager at Prisma Paints, one of the leading industrial companies in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The lecture featured a comprehensive technical overview of paint components and their chemical composition, highlighting the precise technical specifications that ensure quality application. Students were introduced to the key differences between interior, exterior, and industrial paints, as well as the optimal uses of each type in engineering and design projects.

In line with global trends, the lecture focused on sustainability in the paint industry and how technological advancements have contributed to the development of environmentally friendly “smart paints.” The session explained how these innovations interact with their surrounding environment and actively contribute to purifying the air from pollutants, thereby enhancing indoor environmental quality and overall quality of life within buildings.

This event reflects the College of Engineering and Design’s commitment to linking academic learning with industrial practice and exposing students to the latest technologies and professional practices in Bahrain’s labor market through continuous collaboration with specialized national expertise.
