Under the patronage of His Excellency Professor Hassan Al-Hajhoj, President of Kingdom University, the College of Engineering and Design held 3rd KU Symposium for Engineering and Design under the title – “Sustainable Design and Technology”. His Excellency Professor Nader Al Bastaki, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Scientific Research stated that the university pays great attention to such activities that seek to achieve the university’s strategic goals in an effort to link the academic side with the practical side

Dr. Ashraf Soliman, Dean of College Engineering & Design, stated that the symposium focused on digitization and artificial intelligence in engineering and design where Dr. Engineer / Haitham Makki, Director of the Saudi Entertainment Ventures (SEVEN) at Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, spoke about digital architecture and its impact on the architecture industry.

For his part, Professor Engineer/Mohamed Saad, technical advisor for the Ministry of Interior at the Kingdom of Bahrain, spoke about artificial intelligence and its role in sustainable designs for the future. On the other hand, Architectural Professor Islam Al-Ghonaimy, Professor at the College of Engineering, University of Bahrain, spoke about the cooperation of geographic information systems and the impact of their applications on landscaping projects for rapid, accuracy, and integration of the various project scops.

Engineer Abdul Hakim Al Mansouri also presented proposed solutions for many engineering issues in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the most important of which is providing a digital model of construction sites that simulates the construction process, which solves the problem of the lack of practical training for engineering students, as the student can attend virtual training in all stages of construction. The symposium was attended by students and professors at the university’s College of Engineering and Design.
