The second Faculty Development Seminar AY 2016-2017
In the framework of the staff development plan of Kingdom University, KU organized the second faculty development seminar for the current
academic year about best practices of teaching and examination process. The seminar aims to raise the performance efficiency of the academics on exams invigilation through ideal implementation of the university policy and procedures. Prof. Nader Al-Bastaki (Vice president for academic affairs & scientific research) was the keynote speaker. He presented idea of dealing with a wide range of students’ levels of performance within the same classroom and guidelines for exams invigilation as well. He highlighted to need to invoke recent methods of teaching which are outcome based and the need to use technology, self-paced learning and blending learning to enhance the teaching and learning process. Prof. Al-Bastaki stressed that the students should be informed of the regulations of exams and consequences of cheating, and that all invigilators should be very vigilant during the exams. He also emphasis of the proper dealing with the students in case of cheating incidents happened, in that case the student should be treated with respect while the regulations are implemented.
